But they still work, waking up each day with a mission to help your child and our fellow real estate investors. Their legacy project, solving the US housing crisis for people with disabilities, is their big, hairy, audacious goal (BHAG).
Randy is a real estate broker, investor, and fund manager. He's the designated broker/owner for Investment Housing Specialists, a boutique brokerage in Kennewick, Washington. He hold a master's degree in music composition from Central Washington University and retired from my 36-year teaching career in 2015.
Jana is the financial strategist for their real estate brokerage and syndication business. She manages property managers, legal teams, insurance companies, and financial institutions in various markets. Jana graduated from Central Washington University with an ME'd in Special Education and has 35 years of teaching experience. Her work with people living with disabilities gives her a unique qualification for their legacy project.
Utterly Unaffordable
They refer to this as a crisis because today’s market rents make it utterly unaffordable for individuals to team up and rent a place independently.
Most efforts to address this housing issue have relied on the establishment of nonprofit organizations. However, due to financial constraints, this model is ineffective. Every city in every state faces long waiting lists for housing, with some individuals waiting 15 to 20 years for placement, if they receive it at all.
